This is an 18K rose gold Vacheron Constantin Chronometre Royal 1907, 86122/000r-9286. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18k rose gold tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a screw-down exhibition sapphire display case back. The dial is white Grand Feu enamel (that will resist oxidation) on 18K gold plate, with black painted radial Arabic numeral hour markers, and a railway-style outer minute/second track. The 39mm diameter solid three-body case, downturned lugs, and slightly rounded bezel are polished/brushed. It has gold spade shaped hands and a thin blued center sweep second hand with a stop-second function for accuracy. It has a certificate from the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), and the movement has the hallmark of the quality seal of Geneva. It has a 43-hour power reserve at full wind, and it's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet. The 9mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical automatic self-winding Vacheron Constantin Caliber 2460 SCC movement is rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 27 jewels, 182 components, and a shock absorber mechanism. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, and monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). This Vacheron Constantin Chronometre Royal 1907 – reference 86122/000r-9286 – was produced in a limited & numbered edition of 100 pieces, especially marked by the distinctive red 12 on the enamel dial. In 2007 this celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Chronomètre Royal, which was first introduced on May 28th 1907, when the “Chronomètre Royal Vacheron Constantin Genève” became a registered trademark. A hundred years later, it is an enduring legend.
