More about Tribute to Deep Sea Chronograph

This is a stainless steel Jaeger LeCoultre Tribute To Deep Sea Chronograph, 206.85.70. It has a leather strap with a stainless steel buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There is a sapphire display case back secured with 6 screws, and round pushbuttons for the chronograph/stop watch. The 42mm diameter solid two-body case, lapidated curved lugs, and snap-on case back, and black outer revolving graduated ring are polished, with Arabic numeral minute markers. The solid case-back carries the 1959 frogman motif featuring a diver surrounded by bubbles. The dial is matte black with luminous steel dart hour indexes, luminous steel hands, including a center chronograph hand, and an outer track with printed white minutes/seconds divisions. It has an operating indicator for the chronograph at 12 o'clock below the Jaeger LeCoultre logo, a recessed 30-minute subsidiary dial at 3 o'clock, a recessed hour sub dial at 9 o'clock, and one for small seconds at 6. It's water resistant to 100 meters, it has a power reserve of 65-hours at full wind, and the 14.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The automatic self-winding Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 758 movement is rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishment, and a shock absorber mechanism. It's constructed with 47 jewels, 340 components, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a hacking seconds mechanism. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph. The chronograph operating feature is inspired by a historical on-board chronograph that was invented in 1930 by Jaeger LeCoultre for civil & military aviation.
