This is a 1979 stainless steel Omega Speedmaster 145.022-78 ST in untouched original condition. It has an integral stainless steel Omega bracelet with a double deployant clasp, and an acrylic crystal with Omega stamp still visible. It has a screw-down solid case back with a dust cap, and the Speedmaster logo, engraved with the words: "Flight qualified by NASA for all manned space missions and "The first watch worn on the moon." The 42mm diameter solid three-body case, integral lugs, and bracelet are polished/brushed. The dial is black with creamy applied luminous baton hour markers, and a minute/second track with 1/5 seconds divisions. It has aged white baton hands, a center chronograph hand, and an outer tachymeter on the black bezel to 500 units per hour. There is a constant small seconds subsidiary dial at the 9 o'clock position, a 12-hour register at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute sub dial at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, and the 14mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Omega Speedmaster 145.022-78 ST has a mechanical manual winding Omega caliber 861 movement that's rose gold plated. It's constructed with a shock absorber mechanism, 17 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance that's adjusted for temperature and 5 positions. It includes a self-compensating flat balance spring, and an index regulator.
