The winding crown for setting the time is at 4 o'clock, while the rectangular push button at 2 o'clock resets the center sweep hand to zero. The dial is matte black with applied polished steel luminous baton hour markers around a white luminous minute/second scale. It has polished stainless steel tapered baton hands with luminous fill, and a polished steel center sweep second hand with an Original Glashutte logo counter balance. There is a white double disc date aperture window at the 3 o'clock position with black Arabic numerals, and a recessed black alarm radial date subsidiary dial with a silver rim and black Arabic numerals with an inner aperture that expresses the alarm functions with a red indicator hand. At 6 o'clock is a recessed arched aperture that indicates the alarm time with a red arrow The alarm can be set beyond the current month; even if the month is a short month and the regular date requires a manual correction, the date correction of the regular calendar will automatically transfer to the alarm calendar so that an additional correction to the alarm date isn't necessary. It's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, and it has a 55-hour power reserve at full wind. The 14mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.
