The automatic Patek Calibre 315 movement is rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment, and it's stamped with the Seal of Geneva quality mark. It's constructed with 30 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, a straight-line lever escapement, and a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring. In 1932, Patek Philippe debuted the first model of their new, signature line, the Calatrava. These elegant watches were the hybrid of an avant-garde aesthetic with a touch of Bauhaus simplicity. The circular cases had an unmistakable style, and are some of the world's most copied watches. The Stern brothers, who had just purchased the company, chose the name Calatrava from the legend of a Spanish religious order that defended the Calatrava Citadel against the invasion of the Moors in the middle ages.
