Breguet Type XX Vintage "Civilian" circa late 1970s, type 20, the stainless steel compressor case is in outstanding original condition with lugs that are thick and bevels that are clear and defined, manual wind, the watch does not appear to have been polished, jet black Breguet signed dial is in perfect condition with no major flaws or defects, the tritium on the dial and hands are bright, clean and original, minute bezel has faded to a nice dark grey, screw down case back, size 40.5mm, thickness 14.3mm, Outstanding condition with Extract from the Breguet Archives confirming the date of sale in 1982 with a price of 2200 Francs. The watch is being offered out Joshua Ganjei's private collection.

This is a vintage c. late 1970's stainless steel Breguet Type XX "Civilian" chronograph. It has a leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a screw down winding crown with a crosshatched top, round chronograph push buttons, and there is a solid screw down case back with a serial number. The 40.5 diameter three-body solid compressor case, downturned faceted thick lugs with clear bevels, and knurled bidirectional flat dark grey (aged from black) bezel with white Arabic numeral graduations every 5 minutes (and a triangle with a luminous pip at the 60), are original polished. The original jet black dial has the white Breguet signature, Arabic numeral hour markers with bright tritium lume, and rectangular white hour indices around a white minute scale. It has steel Breguet syringe hands with luminous tritium inserts, and a center-sweep steel chronograph hand with a luminous arrow and needle tip. It has black recessed subsidiary dials with luminous white markers, Arabic numerals, and luminous steel indicators, including a running small seconds register at 9 o'clock, a 12-hour chronograph totalizer at 6 o'clock, and there is an oversize 15-minute dial at 3 o'clock with a fat propeller-style indicator with a tritium insert, and 5 tritium spoke indices. It has a 46-hour power reserve at full winding, the case number is 20772, and the 14.3mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Breguet Type XX "Civilian chronograph has a mechanical manual-winding Valjoux caliber 725 column wheel chronograph movement. It's rhodium plated, and it's constructed with 17 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance, and a shock-absorber device. It includes a self-compensating flat balance spring, and an index regulator. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz). This Breguet Type XX "Civilian" chronograph is in excellent original condition, and is from the private collection of Joshua Ganjei.
