This is a vintage c. 1954 18k yellow Patek Philippe Calatrava TIFFANY & CO 2508. It's in outstanding original, unpolished condition, with a case back hallmark at 4 o'clock clear and defined, exhibiting very light wear. It has a 14k yellow gold mesh bracelet with a double folding deployment clasp, and a domed acrylic crystal. It has a screw down winding crown, and a solid screw down case back with the original anti-magnetic dust cover inside. The inside of the engine turned case back is stamped "PATENT – PATEK PHILIPPE – GENEVE – SWISS – REF 2508," several hallmarks, and a serial number. The 35mm diameter solid three-body case, straight scalloped lugs, and angled flat stepped bezel, have the original polish. The original silver radium dial is signed "TIFFANY & CO," with applied boat-shaped yellow gold hour indices with radium inserts, around a black perimeter minute/second chapter ring. It has the original gold sword hands with evenly aged radium inserts, and a blued steel center sweep second hand. It's water resistant, and the 10.7mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Patek Philippe Calatrava TIFFANY & CO 2508 has a mechanical manual winding Patek Philippe caliber 27 SC movement (produced between 1946 and 1970). It's rhodium-plated with fausses côtes and cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's stamped twice with the Seal of Geneva quality mark. It's constructed with 18 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a cut bimetallic compensation balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism, and 5 positions. It has a shock absorber device, a blued steel Breguet balance spring, and a swan neck micrometer regulator. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz). The Patek Philippe Calatrava 2508 was introduced in 1951 and this Tiffany signed edition was made c. 1954.
