More about Geophysic 1958 RG Limited

This is an 18k rose gold Jaeger LeCoultre Geophysic 1958 Q8002520. It has a leather strap with a rose gold tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a pull out winding crown, and a screw-down solid case back engraved with "JAEGER-LECOULTRE - GEOPHYSIC - LIMITED EDITION OF 300 PIECES -“ SWISS MADE - 500.2.37 - 10 BAR," the Geophysic globe logo, and several hallmarks, including the JLC 1000-hour test stamp. The 38.5mm diameter solid three-body case, flat angled bezel, and straight lugs are polished. The dial is white with applied rose gold Arabic numeral hour markers at the quarter hours, and applied faceted gold baton indices with luminous dots. The dauphine gold hands have luminescent yellow/orange inserts. It has a center sweep seconds hand and an outer track with minute/second divisions. There is an anti-magnetic iron inner core and lume plots on the inner bezel. It's a Certified Official Swiss Chronometer (COSC). It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet. It has a 43-hour power reserve, and the 11.4mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Jaeger LeCoultre Geophysic 1958 Q8002520 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 898/1 movement that's anti-magnetic to 600 gauss, with Kif protection, Spyr gears, and micro screws on the balance for regulation. It's constructed with 30 jewels, 201 components, a single barrel, and a shock absorber mechanism. It has a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, and five positions, a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, a swan-neck regulator, and hacking seconds. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). Jaeger LeCoultre Geophysic 1958 Q8002520 is an updated tribute to the historic 1958 Geophysic watches that were engineered for scientific professionals. A benchmark for watchmaking in 1958, this readopted model was made in a limited edition of 300 examples.
