More about Master Compressor Geographic SS / SS Black Dial

This is a stainless steel Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Geographic 146.8.83. It has an integral stainless steel link bracelet with a double deployant stainless steel clasp, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There is a solid case back secured with 4 screws, with a high relief gold "Master Compressor" logo in the center, engraved "GEOGRAPHIC – JAEGER LECOULTRE," and the reference number. It has two screw-down crowns; the Compressor Key winding-crown at 2 o'clock sets the GMT second time zone as well as the world time, with arrows signifying white for locked and red for unlocked. The winding crown at 4 o'clock winds and sets the time. There is a corrector in the case between the crowns for adjusting the date. The 41.5mm diameter solid two-body case, curved angled lugs, bracelet, and angled bezel are polished. The dial is black with luminous Arabic numerals at 9 and 12 o'clock, luminous steel hands, and luminous dart and baton hour indices. There are two black subsidiary guilloche dials, including one for the date at 3 o'clock, and a large GMT second time zone register is at 7 o'clock. There is a flag-shaped aperture for the AM/PM indication at 9 o'clock, and a world time window arch with 24 cities and time zones is at 6 o'clock. It has Luminous steel alpha hands and a center sweep seconds hand with a red arrow tip. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, and it has a power reserve of 45-hours at full wind. The 14mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Geographic 146.8.83, has a mechanical automatic self-winding Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 923 movement that's rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 31 jewels, a shock absorber device, 282 components, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 6 positions, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. Their original 1965 Memovox diving watch inspires the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Geographic 146.8.83. It passed the stringent 1000-hour testing before it left the factory.
