More about Master Control Automatic SS 18k Rose Gold UNWORN

This is an 18k rose gold Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control Automatic, 139.24.20. It has a leather strap with a rose gold deployant buckle, a push/pull winding crown, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The 39mm diameter solid two-body case, downturned lugs, and rounded bezel are polished. It has a solid case back secured with 4 screws and a date aperture window at 3 o'clock. The dial is silver with applied rose gold Arabic numeral hour markers at 6, 9, and 12 o'clock, and baton index markers with dauphine hands and minute dots with luminous inserts. There is a blued central sweep second hand and an outer ring with minute divisions. It's water resistant to 50 meters/150 feet, and it has a power reserve of 43 hours at full wind. The 8.9 mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The automatic self-winding Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 899 movement is rhodium plated, with "fausses côtes" embellishment. It's constructed with 32 jewels, 219 components, and 1 barrel. It has a shock absorber mechanism, and the balance-bridge is fitted with two rests while the self-compensating flat balance spring is laser-welded to the stud and collet. There is a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions, and a variable inertia balance wheel for ultra stability and precision. It has a 22-carat oscillating weight segment, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). Jaeger LeCoultre began producing round, automatic watches in 1946, which were the forerunners to the Master Control line. They debuted the first Master Control watches in 1992; the caliber 889 passed a six-week, 1000-hour series of tests that are now the benchmark examination for all JLC timepieces.
