This is an 18K rose gold A. Lange & Sohne Grand Langematik Big Date 309.031. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18K rose gold buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There is a rectangular pushbutton for correcting the date display on the case at the 10 o'clock position. The 40mm diameter solid three-body case, curved bezel, and downturned lugs are polished. There is an exhibition transparent sapphire case back secured with 6 screws, and engraved with ""A. LANGE & SOHNE – GLASHUTTE SA," a serial number and hallmarks. The dial is matte black with rose gold applied faceted baton hour markers, white painted minute index markers, and rhodium plated rose gold lancet hands with tritium inserts. There is a constant small seconds subsidiary dial at 6 o'clock, and two large double date aperture windows underneath 12 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, it has a power reserve 46-hours, and the 9.7mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This A. Lange & Sohne Grand Langematik Big Date 309.031 has a mechanical automatic self-winding A. Lange & Sohne caliber 921.4 SAX-O-MAT movement that's made from Glashütte 3/4 plate in German silver, with fausses cotes embellishment. It has an embossed bi-directional winding three quarter rotor in 21ct gold and platinum, with 4 ball bearings in the gear change. It has a shock absorber mechanism, and it's constructed with 45 jewels. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic Glucydor screwed balance that's adjusted for temperature and 5 positions, a beat adjustment with a micrometer screw, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. It has a Nivarox hairspring with a swan-neck precision regulator, bridges with Glashutte ribbing, and a hand-engraved balance bridge. It has a hacking seconds device with automatic zeroing of the seconds hand (zero reset) when pulling the crown. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 VPH (3 HZ). Was introduced in 2003, and it was produced until 2007.
