More about A. Lange and Sohne 116.025 Lange 1 Time Zone Platinum

This A. Lange & Sohne platinum Lange 1 Time Zone watch is a global ambassador; it will display the local time for anyplace on the earth, as well as your own home time. This complicated watch is indicative of the Lange tradition since 1845 – the first and finest German watchmakers who made the Saxony region and Dresden as important as Switzerland to the history of horology. This Reference 116.025 (116025) manual-wind timepiece is another contemporary Lange masterpiece. This recent addition to the Lang 1 series with a world time zone complication harkens back to Walter Lange's debut of the Lange 1 line in 1990, which marked the rebirth of the A. Lange & Söhne dynasty after the end of the cold war and the reunification of Germany. The case is thin at 11.0mm, and has a huge diameter of 41.9 mm. The dial is rhodium-plated, solid silver with applied platinum Roman numerals, index markers, and luminous insert alpha hands. The offset hour dial indicates your local time while two smaller inset subdials at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock keep 24-hour diurnal and nocturnal time as well as small seconds. The world time subdial is located at the bottom right sector of the watch and can be easily adjusted using a quick-set push-bar on the side of the case at 8 o'clock that rotates the outer city ring, advancing the time in 1-hour increments. The patented, oversize dual-window date display is at the top right of the dial at 1 o'clock and a quick date-correction push-bar is on the case edge at 10 o'clock. The up-down power reserve indicator is at 3 o'clock. The amazing caliber L031.1 movement contains 54 jewels, 417 components and an engine with twin mainspring barrels that oscillates at 21,600 vibrations per hour. The caseback is a display-through sapphire crystal and the bezel is fixed. The power reserve is 72-hours, and the hand-stitched crocodile strap has a platinum ardillon tang buckle clasp. This watch is magnificent as well as a technical marvel.
