There is a screw down winding crown with crown guards, and a screw down exhibition sapphire display case back engraved with a serial number. The 45.5mm diameter solid three-body case, straight hooded lugs, and stepped bezel with a circular center guilloche pattern with five face screws, are polished/brushed. It has silver skeletonized baton pointed hands with luminous inserts, a steel sweep center seconds hand, and applied faceted baton hour indices with luminous inserts, and a luminous Arabic numeral 12. There is a trapezoidal date aperture window at 6 o'clock, and around the raised perimeter tier is a luminous white 60-minute scale with Arabic numerals every five seconds. There is a round recessed black 7-day power reserve subsidiary dial at the 3 o'clock position, with luminous white Arabic numerals and a red warning 24-hour sector. It's water resistant to 120 meters/390 feet, and the 15mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This IWC Big Ingenieur IW500501 has a mechanical automatic self-winding IWC caliber 80111 movement. It's rhodium plated with cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's constructed with 42 jewels, an index regulator, a shock absorber device, and it includes a skeletonized rotor with the gold IWC "Probus Scafusia" medallion. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 VPH (3 Hz). The IWC Big Ingenieur IW500501 was introduced in 2007 and it was produced until 2011.
