More about Vintage Serif Matte Dial Submariner GREAT PATINA
This is a vintage c. 1978 stainless steel Rolex Submariner Serif Dial 5513. It has an integral 93150 stainless steel Rolex Oyster link bracelet with 580 end links. It has a Twinlock screw down winding crown with a crown guard, and a solid screw down case back, inside of which is stamped "MONTRES ROLEX SA. – GENEVA SWITZERLAND – PATENTED – STAINLESS STEEL – 5513." The 40mm diameter solid three-body monobloc case, curved lugs, and graduated bi-directional revolving black reeded bezel with decompression times marked in luminous Arabic numerals, are polished/brushed. The matte dial is black with luminescent round, triangular, and baton hour index markers, an outer minute track, luminous steel skeleton baton/Rolex hands, and a center sweep seconds hand with a round luminous indicator. The lumes are all of an equal creamy patina. It's water resistant to 660 feet, and the 14.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex Submariner 5513 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 1520 movement that's rhodium-plated, and constructed with 26 jewels, and a shock absorber mechanism. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance that's adjusted for temperature and 5 positions. There is a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a central hacking seconds mechanism.
