This is a stainless steel Nomos Ludwig 38 Date 231. It has a leather strap with a stainless stee folding deployment buckle, and scratch resistant sapphire crystals. It has a pull out winding crown, and a snap down exhibition sapphire display case back, engraved around the perimeter with "GESCHUTZTES MODELL LUDWIG – EDELSTAHL – WASSERDICHT BIS 3 ATM," and a serial number. The 38mm diameter solid two-body case, curved lugs, and thin convex bezel, are polished. The dial is silver with black Roman numeral hour markers alternated with stick baton indices, around a perimeter railway-style minute scale. It has tempered blued steel baton hands, and there is a recessed silver running small seconds subsidiary dial with concentric guilloche patterning at 6 o'clock with black markers and a blued steel indicator hand. A trapezoidal date aperture window is at the 6 o'clock position as well. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, it has a 42-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 6.8mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Nomos Ludwig 38 Date 231 has a mechanical manual winding in-house caliber "Beta" DUW 4101 movement. It's rhodium plated with Glashutte ribbing and NOMOS perlage embellishment. It's constructed with Glashutte quarter plate, 23 jewels, tempered blued steel screws, and a blued balance spring. It includes the NOMOS swing system escapement, a monometallic balance with fine adjustment to six positions, and an anti-shock device. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz). The Nomos Ludwig 38 Date 231 was introduced in 2013.
