More about Pagoda 18K Yellow Gold / Gold Dial

This is an 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe Pagoda 5500J. It has a leather strap with a matching 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe tang buckle, and a curved sapphire crystal. It has a solid case back engraved with "Commemorative Pagoda 1997." The 29mm by 41mm solid "bombé" shaped two-body case, downturned triangular lugs, and thin rectangular bezel are polished/ brushed. The dial is gold colored with applied yellow gold Roman numerals, feuille yellow gold hands, and an outer railway-style minute/second track. There is a rectangular small seconds subdial at 6 o'clock. It's rated by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC), and it has a 44-hour power reserve. The 10mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical manual winding Patek Philippe caliber 215PS movement is rhodium plated with fausses côtes embellishment. It's stamped with the Quality Mark of the Seal of Geneva. It's constructed with 18 jewels, 5 bridges, a straight-line lever escapement, and the patented Patek Gyromax balance that's adjusted to cold, heat, isochronism, and 5 positions. It has a shock absorber mechanism, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). This is one of the limited edition of only 1,100 pieces made in yellow gold in 1997 to commemorate Patek Philippe's new watchmaking center in Geneva.
