This is a stainless steel Cartier Ballon Bleu Chronograph, reference W69012Z4. It has an integral stainless steel link bracelet with a tri-fold deployant clasp, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. There is a solid screw-down case back secured with 8 screws, and the fluted winding crown is set with a blue synthetic spinel cabochon that is fully protected by an arch of steel that is part of the bezel. The 42mm diameter solid three-body case, integral downturned lugs, and rounded bezel are polished. The dial is silver Opaline guilloche with painted black Roman numeral hour markers on a plain reserve, the Cartier secret signature on the VII, and a raised inner minute/second track. It has sword-shaped blued-steel hands, a centered sweep seconds hand, and an oval date aperture window at 9 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 13mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Cartier Ballon Bleu Chronograph, reference W69012Z4, has a mechanical automatic self-winding Cartier 049 movement. It's rhodium-plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It has a shock absorber mechanism, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance. It includes a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a hacking seconds mechanism for precision time setting.
