This is a stainless steel Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Chronometer 1846 263-66. It has an alligator leather strap with a stainless steel deployment clasp, and a scratch resistant anti-reflective sapphire crystal. It has a signed screw down winding crown with a crown guard, and a solid case back secured with 6 screws, and engraved with the list of 18 Ulysse Nardin gold medals, and "ULYSSE NARDIN – MARINE CHRONOMETER – 200 METERS." There is a screwed serial number plate on the left-side case band, and the 41mm diameter solid three-body case, screwed curved lugs, and coin-edged convex bezel, are polished. The dial is blue with applied steel Arabic numeral hour markers around an angled peripheral white minute scale with luminous hour pips. It has fancy Ulysse Nardin steel hands with luminous inserts, and there is a black up/down 42-hour power reserve subsidiary dial at 12 o'clock with a white railroad-style scale, white and red markers, and a steel indicator hand. A second larger black running small seconds register is at 6 o'clock, with white Arabic numerals, a railroad-style outer scale, a steel indicator hand, and there is a round steel-rimmed date aperture window at the 6 o'clock position. It includes a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) rating, and it's water resistant to 200 meters/660 feet. It has a 42-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 12.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Chronometer 1846 263-66 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Ulysse Nardin caliber UN 26 movement that's built on a base ETA caliber 2892-A2. It has Cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's constructed with 21 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, blued screws, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a hacking seconds mechanism for precision time setting. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).
