More about Vintage Seamaster Day Date BOX & PAPERS

This is a 1975 gold plated stainless steel Omega Seamaster 166.089. It has a leather strap with a gold-toned tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It includes pull out signed winding crown that quicksets the date by continuous pushing, and there is a solid screw down case back with "SEAMASTER," and the seahorse emblem in high relief in the center medallion, and it's engraved around the perimeter with "GOLD ELECTROPLATE BEZEL – STAINLESS STEEL BACK." Inside the case back is the triangular Omega emblem, and "FAB. SUISSE – SWISS MADE – CARRURE-LUNETTE – PLAQUE OR G – 40 MICRONS – FOND ACIER INOXYDABLE – 166.089." The 39mm barrel-shaped case, straight hooded lugs, and wide convex bezel, are polished/brushed. The dial is Florentine gold with square applied faceted gold hour indices with luminous inserts, around a silver perimeter reserve with a black minute/second scale. It includes pointed gold baton hands with luminous inserts, and a center sweep second hand. A gold-rimmed double day and date aperture window is at the three o'clock position. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, it has a 50-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 12.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Omega Seamaster 166.089 has a mechanical automatic Omega caliber 750 movement. It's rose gold/copper finished, and it's constructed with 17 jewels, an Incabloc shock absorber system, a straight-line lever escapement, and a self-compensating balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 19,800 vph (2.75 Hz). The Omega Seamaster 166.089 was introduced in 1974.
