This is a vintage c. 1950's 18K yellow gold IWC vintage manual winding caliber 89. It has a leather strap with an 18K yellow gold tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. It has a pull out winding crown, and a solid snap down case back, inside of which is engine turned and engraved with the IWC stamp, and hallmarks. The 36mm diameter solid two-body case, fancy faceted curved lugs, and flat angled bezel, are polished/brushed. The original dial is silver with applied yellow gold "boat" baton hour markers. It has yellow gold feuille hands and a center sweep second hand around a perimeter gold dot minute/second scale. The 9.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This IWC vintage manual winding caliber 89 has a mechanical manual winding IWC caliber 89 movement. It's rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes and Cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's constructed with 17 jewels, adjustment screws on balance spokes, a straight-line lever escapement, a bimetallic balance, an Incabloc shock absorber, an index regulator, a hacking feature for precision time-setting, and a self-compensating Breguet balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz).
