This is a stainless steel Rolex Oyster Explorer II 16570. It has an integral 904L stainless steel oyster bracelet (78790A), with the folding Oysterlock safety clasp. It has a solid screw-down case back and a signed screw down winding crown with crown guards. The 40mm diameter solid three-body case, integral lugs, and 24-hour graduated bezel are polished/brushed. It has a black dial with luminous Rolex "Mercedes" hands, a red seconds hand, and luminous dot, baton, and triangular hour markers. The date aperture with a Cyclops bubble-magnifying lens is at 3 o'clock, and it has stop-seconds for precise time setting, and two time zones; the second time zone has independent rapid setting of the hour hand. Included is the Officially Certified Superlative Chronometer (COSC) certification. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet. The 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex Oyster Explorer II 16570 has a mechanical perpetual, self-winding, Manufacture Rolex caliber 3187 movement that's rhodium-plated, with a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, and high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers. It has bidirectional self-winding via a perpetual rotor, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The original Rolex Explorer II was introduced in 1971, the heir to the Explorer, which was designed to be a precision guide tool for volcanologists, explorers, and speleologists. This Rolex Oyster Explorer II 16570 was introduced in the 1990's.
