This is a stainless steel IWC Ingenieur Automatic Vintage Collection IW323301. It has an alligator leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has an exhibition sapphire crystal display case back, and a soft-iron inner case for protection against magnetic fields. The 42.5mm diameter solid three-body case, rounded bezel. and downturned lugs are polished. The dial is black with luminous dauphine hands and applied luminous, faceted baton index hour markers. There is a center sweep seconds hand and a screw-down crown. The rectangular date aperture is at 3 o'clock with a crown-activated rapid advance. There is a 44-hour power reserve at full wind, and the outer track has minute/second dot indicators. It's water resistant to 120meters/360 feet. The 14.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This IWC Ingenieur Automatic Vintage Collection IW323301 has a mechanical automatic IWC calibre 80111 movement that's rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 28 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance that adjusts for cold, heat, and five positions. It has a shock absorber mechanism, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a hacking seconds feature. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). When Hans Ernest Homberger took over IWC in 1955, one of the first offerings was the Ingenieur automatic, made with a special soft-iron inner body for protection against magnetic fields. It was equipped with the first bidirectional automatic movement, developed by Technical Director Albert Pellaton.
