More about Luminor 1950 Chronograph Rattrapante SS

This is a stainless steel Panerai Luminor 1950 Chronograph Rattrapante PAM00213. It has a composite rubber Ranerai dive strap with a stainless steel double-fold over deployment buckle, and a scratch resistant high cambered sapphire corundum crystal with anti-glare coatings. There is a completely protected winding crown with the patented security lever for winding the watch underwater, and a push button on the left case band at 8 o'clock for the split-seconds rattrapante function. It has a screw-down exhibition sapphire display case back, engraved around the rim with "OFFICINE PANERAI – OP 6641 – AUTOMATIC – STAINLESS STEEL – 100M," the edition number and a serial number. The 45mm diameter cushion-shaped solid three-body case, downturned lugs, and angled bezel are polished/brushed. The dial is black with luminous Arabic numeral hour markers at the half hours, luminous baton indices, and luminous blackened baton hands. There is an outer railroad-style minute track, and around the perimeter is a tachymeter scale to 400 UPH. There are twin recessed black subsidiary dials with luminous scales and hands, including a running seconds register at 9 o'clock, and a 30-minute chronograph totalizer at 3 o'clock. It has a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) rating, and it has a 42-hour power reserve at full wind. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, and the 18.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Panerai Luminor 1950 Chronograph Rattrapante PAM00213 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Panerai caliber OP XVIII double-column wheel chronograph movement. It's rhodium-plated, with oeil de perdrix embellishment. It's constructed with 31 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, a self-compensating flat balance spring, an index regulator, and a hacking seconds mechanism for precision time setting. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (3Hz). The Panerai Luminor 1950 Chronograph Rattrapante PAM00213 was produced in a limited edition of 800 examples, and it was first introduced in 2005
