More about 3893 Enamel Dial 18k Yellow Gold

This is a 1980's 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe Calatrava 3893/000J. It has an alligator leather strap with a gold tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It includes a signed pull out winding crown, and a solid snap down case back. The 33mm diameter round solid two-body case, downturned straight lugs, and angled flat bezel, are polished. The Sigma dial has the black "Swiss" text at the bottom flanked by two Sigma symbols, indicating that the hour markers and hands are made of gold. It's ivory enamel with gold dauphine sword hour and minute hands, and applied gold "boat" shaped gold hour markers around a perimeter gold pip minute scale. There is a flush constant small running seconds subsidiary dial at 6 o'clock with black markers and a gold indicator hand. This Patek Philippe Calatrava 3893/000J has a mechanical manual winding caliber 215 movement that's rhodium plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment; it's stamped with the Seal of Geneva quality mark. It's constructed with 5 bridges, 130 components, 18 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, a straight-line lever escapement, and a self-compensating flat Spiromax balance spring. It has the patented Patek Philippe Gyromax balance that compensates for cold, heat, isochronism, and 5 positions. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Patek Philippe Calatrava 3893/000J was produced in 1986.
